Debug Mode

Debug Mode helps collect additional diagnostic information that can be useful when troubleshooting an issue with Plus0.

If you experience a problem while using the Plus0 mobile app, you can quickly enable Debug Mode by shaking your phone. You can also enable Debug Mode from the Settings page using the alternative method described below.

What does shaking the phone do?

Plus0 includes a built-in shake gesture that provides quick access to Debug Mode.

When you deliberately shake your phone, Plus0 detects the movement and displays the following confirmation:

Would you like to enable debug mode?

You can then choose:

  • Cancel – closes the message and leaves Debug Mode disabled.
  • Enable – enables Debug Mode on your device.

Debug Mode is not enabled simply because the phone was shaken. You must tap Enable in the confirmation message before Debug Mode is activated.

How to enable Debug Mode by shaking your phone

  1. Keep the Plus0 app open on your phone.
  2. Hold your phone securely in your hand.
  3. Shake the phone deliberately twice.
  4. Plus0 will display a confirmation asking whether you would like to enable Debug Mode.
  5. Tap Enable.
  6. Debug Mode will be activated.

How should I shake the phone?

You do not need to shake the phone aggressively. Hold the device securely and make two clear back-and-forth movements.

The movement should be deliberate enough for Plus0 to distinguish it from normal activities such as walking, picking up the phone or moving it between your hands.

If the confirmation does not appear, wait a few seconds and try again using two clear shake movements.

What happens after Debug Mode is enabled?

After you tap Enable, Plus0 activates Debug Mode and stores the setting on your device.

The Debug Log option will also become available in the Plus0 Settings page.

Debug Mode remains enabled until you disable it from Settings.

Why would I enable Debug Mode?

Debug Mode is intended to help diagnose technical problems.

You may be asked to enable it when:

  • You are experiencing an unexpected problem in the Plus0 app.
  • A feature is not behaving as expected.
  • Plus0 Support asks you to reproduce an issue while Debug Mode is enabled.
  • Additional application logs are needed to investigate a technical issue.

When troubleshooting an issue, it can be useful to enable Debug Mode first and then reproduce the problem so the application can capture diagnostic information related to what happened.

Alternative method: enable Debug Mode from Settings

If you do not want to use the shake gesture, you can also activate Debug Mode through the Plus0 Settings page.

  1. Open Plus0.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Find the application version information.
  4. Tap the Version repeatedly 10 times.
  5. Debug Mode will be enabled and the Debug Log option will become available.

This provides an alternative way to activate Debug Mode if shake detection is unavailable or you prefer not to shake your device.

How to disable Debug Mode

After Debug Mode has been enabled, you can manage it from the Plus0 Settings page.

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Locate Debug Log.
  3. Turn Debug Log off.

Turning Debug Log off disables Debug Mode and removes the stored Debug Mode activation time from the device.

Why don't I see the Debug Log option in Settings?

The Debug Log option is normally hidden until Debug Mode has been activated.

You can reveal and enable it using either of these methods:

  • Shake your phone twice and tap Enable when prompted.
  • Go to Settings and tap the application Version 10 times.

Once Debug Mode is enabled, the Debug Log option becomes available in Settings.

What if shaking the phone does nothing?

If the Debug Mode confirmation does not appear:

  • Make sure the Plus0 app is open and active on the screen.
  • Try two clear back-and-forth shake movements.
  • Wait a few seconds before trying again.
  • Make sure your device supports motion detection.
  • Use the alternative Settings method by tapping the application Version 10 times.

Why doesn't the confirmation appear after Debug Mode is already enabled?

If Debug Mode is already enabled, Plus0 does not need to ask you to enable it again.

You can check or disable Debug Mode from the Debug Log option in Settings.

Can normal phone movement enable Debug Mode?

Plus0 is designed to look for a deliberate shake gesture rather than ordinary device movement.

Even when a shake is detected, Debug Mode is not automatically enabled. Plus0 displays a confirmation first, and you must explicitly tap Enable.

Does shaking the phone immediately send anything to Support?

No. Shaking the phone is used to open the Debug Mode confirmation. It does not by itself contact Plus0 Support or automatically submit a support request.

Its purpose is to make it easier to activate additional diagnostic logging when troubleshooting is required.

When should I reproduce the problem?

If Plus0 Support asks you to enable Debug Mode for troubleshooting, a useful process is:

  1. Enable Debug Mode.
  2. Return to the area of Plus0 where you experienced the problem.
  3. Repeat the steps that caused the issue, if it is safe and appropriate to do so.
  4. Note approximately when the issue occurred and what you were doing.
  5. Provide that information to Plus0 Support when requested.

This can make it easier to identify the relevant diagnostic information.

Debug Mode and privacy

Debug information may contain technical details about how the application is operating. Debug Mode should therefore be used for legitimate troubleshooting and support purposes.

Do not intentionally enter passwords, verification OTPs or other unnecessary sensitive information into support messages or troubleshooting notes.

Frequently asked questions

How many times do I need to shake the phone?

Use two deliberate shake movements. Plus0 requires multiple shake movements to help distinguish the gesture from ordinary phone movement.

Does shaking automatically enable Debug Mode?

No. After Plus0 detects the shake gesture, it asks “Would you like to enable debug mode?” You must tap Enable before Debug Mode is activated.

What happens if I tap Cancel?

The confirmation closes and Debug Mode remains disabled. You can shake the phone again later if you need to enable it.

What happens if I tap Enable?

Plus0 enables Debug Mode, stores the setting on the device and makes the Debug Log option available in Settings.

Can I activate Debug Mode without shaking my phone?

Yes. Open Settings and tap the application Version 10 times. This enables Debug Mode and reveals the Debug Log option.

How do I know whether Debug Mode is enabled?

Open Settings and look for the Debug Log option. When Debug Mode has been activated, this option becomes available and reflects the current debug setting.

How do I turn Debug Mode off?

Open Settings, locate Debug Log and turn it off.

Why is the shake confirmation not appearing repeatedly?

Plus0 includes protection against repeated shake detections within a short period. If you recently triggered the gesture, wait a few seconds before trying again.

Will shaking work on every device?

The shake feature is intended for supported Plus0 mobile devices that provide motion-sensor information. If the gesture is unavailable, use the Settings method instead.

Should I leave Debug Mode enabled permanently?

Debug Mode is primarily intended for troubleshooting. If you enabled it to investigate a specific problem, you can disable it from Settings after the troubleshooting process is complete.

Where can I get additional help?

If you are experiencing an issue with Plus0 and need assistance, use the relevant Help article or contact Plus0 Support with a description of the problem and the steps that caused it.

Key takeaway

To quickly enable Debug Mode in Plus0, keep the app open and shake your phone twice. When Plus0 asks whether you would like to enable Debug Mode, tap Enable.

If shaking is not convenient or does not work on your device, open Settings and tap the application Version 10 times. Once Debug Mode is active, you can manage it using the Debug Log option in Settings.
